Parenting our Champions

Connecting individuals, families, caregivers & NDIS providers with the right support

About Karen

A dedicated advocate in the disability industry, Karen Poole is driven by a profound passion for helping others and connecting individuals with the right support.

Born and raised on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia, Karen earned her Bachelor of Business, specialising in International Business, from the University of the Sunshine Coast.

With a dynamic career spanning over two decades, Karen has seamlessly navigated roles in marketing, events, presenting, networking, and teaching in both Australia and Japan.  Regardless of the professional hat she wears, Karen’s unwavering focus has always been on listening to needs and delivering tailored solutions to help others.

In 2019, Karen faced a big change on the home front when one of her children received diagnoses of intellectual disability, autism, adhd, sensory processing disorder and anxiety.  Fuelled by a desire to support her family holistically, Karen embarked on a journey of learning, attending numerous appointments with specialists and immersing herself in understanding these conditions.  This personal challenge became the catalyst for a professional shift as Karen redirected her career towards the disability sector.

Having worked for several years within the NDIS space, Karen intimately understands the individual and family journey.  She recognises the crucial importance of finding the right support, be it through dedicated support workers, allied health teams, or connecting families with valuable resources.

On a personal note, Karen cherishes quality time with her family, continually seeks new experiences, and is always eager to learn and share.  Her commitment for this extends beyond her professional endeavours, as evidenced by her projects – a series of children’s books focusing on autism, ADHD and anxiety, along with online and face to face courses designed to empower parents, carers, and NDIS providers with valuable insights into the sensory world, de-escalation techniques, and simplifying daily routines and life at home, school and in the community.

Join Karen in her advocacy journey and ongoing conversations for awareness, inspiration, and connection.
